I’m writing a series of music method books. What writing software would anyone recommend?
I’m currently doing most of the work in Photoshop CS2.
I’ll create exercises using MuseScore, save them as .pdf files, open them in Photoshop, crop the exercises and drop them into a “template” I’ve created (CMYK, 300 dps, 8.5 x 11, 1″ margins top & bottom, 1.25″ left & right). I’m doing all layout, text and images (such as keyboard/fretboard fingering charts) in Photoshop – one page at a time. I’m saving the file as flat .pdf copies.
The problem is this is very time consuming and the .pdf files (even flattened) are rather large. Any suggestions?
Our son swears by Sibelius. If you are a student, there’s a substantial discount.
