Which bass guitar sounds lower, a jazz bass or a precision bass guitar?
I am going to get a bass guitar soon but want a bass that sounds deepest / lower and Im not sure which of these it is. Jazz or Precision. Links to websites would be a great help. thanks.
does anyone know how many strings a normal bass has, i thought it had four but im not sure.

they both sound identical if you put identicle strings on them and play them thru identicle amplifiers. The pickup designs are a little bit different, but not enuff to be noticable. The main differences are the neck width and the treble pickup placement on the bass bodies. The Jazz bass can get a little bit more treble because the pickup is closer to the bridge, and the Jazz bass neck is skinnier at the first fret than the Precision Bass.
