Question about electrical item purchased at Christmas (live in UK)?
We purchased a “Prestige” electric carving knife over the xmas period, used for the first time yesterday.
I was watching tv in the other room and my wife started using the electric knife, the picture on our tv started to break up quite badly (freeview program-digital tv) when she stopped cutting the tv picture returned to normal.
Any electrical experts out there who could give us an answer please.
Note. The knife was working off the cooker socket
The tv was working off the ring circuit
( two different circuits being used)
Does the knife have a suppresion fault
our previous knife different brand name worked fine no problems.
Either poor or missing suppressors in the carver or you may have an indoor aerial, or poor screening of the downlead, which is picking up the interference.
