Help me Identify my Fender Stratocaster body?
Ok, i recently bought whats supposed to be a 1980 american strat body with a 1982 fender lead II usa neck. I know the necks real, but can someone help with the body? its a sparkle lake placid blue finish, S/S/S pickup layout, the bridge is american, but the neck cavity has “ST” stamped on it. Ive heard from some people that only squier bodies have ST stamped on them. Hope someone can help!
Hello! Although I cannot give you a definitive answer, I can tell you that “ST” in of itself does not indicate country-of-origin. If you check some of the User Forums ( http://www.fenderforum.com/ , http://www.strat-talk.com/ , and http://www.stratocastertalk.com/ ), you will find several threads that discuss body markings. Funny, my 1993 Stratocaster has a date, an employee’s name, and various other indecipherable letters, whereas my 2008 model has nothing! Sorry, wish I could have helped more. Best regards, Dana
